Abstract We test for differences in subjective well-being across four pre-defined generations Australia born between 1928 and 1994: The Lucky Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Y. focus on overall life satisfaction range of domain satisfactions. find that Boomers are less satisfied with than thosce before after them. observe similar patterns when considering domains such as finances housing. However, employment opportunities show the opposite pattern, X’s reporting higher compared to especially those from Family labour marketcv status have greater effects cohort birth many studied; however, significant non-negligible, particularly concerning life, opportunities,
